Felicia Slate, OD

Optometrist

Felicia Slate, OD, completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Ferris State University in 2013 and continued her education at the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Slate was active in her school and received the Daniel Peters Memorial Award for Outstanding Senior Optometry Student. She served as a member on a national committee representing her school and continues to be involved in organized optometry.

Dr. Slate received extensive training in a variety of clinical experiences. She completed internships at Michigan State University in the Neuro Ophthalmology Department, the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. She also worked with corneal specialists at Verdier Eye Center treating anterior segment pathology and fitting patients with specialty contact lenses. At the Mercy Health Diabetic Clinic in Grand Rapids and at the Wyoming Veterans Affairs Health Care Center, Dr. Slate developed a passion for managing ocular disease and educating her patients about overall health and how it effects your vision.

Dr. Slate began her career seeing patients at a medically based ophthalmology practice in rural West Michigan where she has had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of ocular diseases including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and agerelated macular degeneration. From providing routine exams, contact lens exams, emergency eye care to pre and postoperative surgical care, Dr. Slate treats and manages all of your eye care needs. She enjoys working with patients of all ages including children.

Growing up in a small town, Dr. Slate has a passion for developing personal relationships. She looks forward to creating long-lasting relationships with all of her patients and providing them, along with their families, with exceptional eye care.

​​​​​​​Outside of the office you will find Dr. Slate along with her husband Jordan, daughter Gwendolyn, and golden doodle Poppy running around. She is an outdoor enthusiast and an avid runner. She has completed a number of marathons including The Boston Marathon. Someday she hopes to complete all 6 of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Renee Lobert, OD

Retired Optometrist

Renee Lobert, OD, is primarily a medical optometrist with over 30 years of experience in the detection and management of ocular diseases and concerns, such as new-onset blurred vision, cataracts, flashes and floaters, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. She treats both healthy eyes and eyes with problems, such as eyes with conjunctivitis, styes, glaucoma, corneal ulcers, iritis, and ocular injuries. These are all in addition to providing appropriate testing for the latest spectacle and contact lens correction options using current technology and products. Renee Lobert, OD, is a second generation optometrist, following in the footsteps of her father. The skilled and gentle manner in which her father cared for his patients is what Renee Lobert, OD, admired most in her father and what she exemplifies in her practice.

Mary

Retired Optician

Mary is our office manager and certified optician. She graduated from Ferris State University and has continued to serve in optical practices throughout the years. She enjoys helping you find eyewear that suits your style, with just the right lenses for your needs. Mary specializes in precise fitting and reconditioning of eyeglasses, along with contact lens training, and insurance billing. She looks forward to seeing you in the office soon.

Maribeth VonSeggern

Office Manager and Certified Optician

Maribeth is a certified optician. She is a graduate of Ferris State University and has worked as an optician for over thirty years, while taking a few breaks to raise a family. Her expertise is helping patients select eyewear that is fashionable with precise measurements to give the patients the best vision possible. She specializes in adjustments to provide eyewear that is comfortable and is ready to assist patients when they call the office.
